Lasker Awards (2027 nominations)

About this program

The Lasker Foundation administers the annual Lasker Awards to honor major contributions to biomedical science, clinical research, and public service; winners for 2026 will be announced in September, and nominations for the 2027 awards will be accepted from November through early February 2027. Major awards include the Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award (for fundamental discoveries that open new areas), the Lasker–DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award (for advances that improve the lives of many), and the Lasker–Koshland Special Achievement Award in Medical Science (for outstanding research and scientific statesmanship; next offered in 2027). The Lasker–Bloomberg Public Service Award is open to individuals or organizations that meet at least one criterion such as improving public understanding of medical research, advancing policy or support for health science, providing support for public health, or benefiting large populations through public health practice. Nominators must follow the Foundation’s submission rules (including identifying additional scientists for Basic and Clinical awards and providing required support materials); consult the FAQ or contact David Keegan for assistance.
