About this program
The Latin American Fellowship Committee awards two annual grants to support mammal-related research in Latin America: the Latin American Student Field Research Award (six awards of $1,500 each) and the Oliver P. Pearson Award (single early-career award—recently listed as $5,000 plus up to $2,000 in travel support to attend ASM meetings). The student awards fund field-oriented projects in natural history, conservation, ecology, systematics, wildlife biology, biogeography, or behavior. Eligible applicants are graduate students who are citizens of Latin American countries for the student award, and early-career professionals holding an academic or curatorial position in Latin America within five years of their Ph.D. for the Pearson Award.
