About this program

Liberty Mutual Foundation provides single- and multi‑year grant funding to nonprofits that align with its strategic grantmaking framework through open RFPs across six priority areas and rolling Discretionary Funds for Greater Boston and Washington State; discretionary funding decisions are typically made within 8–12 weeks of submission. Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations that serve specified geographies (Greater Boston — Boston, Brockton, Cambridge, Chelsea, Quincy, Randolph, Somerville; Greater Puget Sound and select Washington counties: King, Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston, Kitsap, Spokane), demonstrate strong alignment with at least one RFP initiative, and not have received Liberty Mutual Foundation funding in the past 12 months. Note that several initiative RFPs are on hiatus until 2027–2028, certain initiatives (e.g., Housing Stability & Youth Experiencing Homelessness and Youth Workforce Development) are currently open only to Greater Boston organizations, and applicants should contact Foundation@LibertyMutual.com to confirm current deadlines.
