About this program
Established in 1987 by Constance E. Lieber and Stephen A. Lieber and administered by the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, the Lieber Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Schizophrenia Research awards $50,000 and publicly honors winners at the Foundation’s International Awards Dinner in New York City each October. The prize recognizes major discoveries and exceptional contributions to understanding or treating schizophrenia. Recipients are chosen by a standing selection committee of expert scientists and are drawn from researchers whose work represents outstanding advances in schizophrenia research.
