Lilly Network Small Grants Program

About this program

Lilly Network offers Small Grants of up to $5,000 to Member Institutions to seed new programs that stimulate on-campus or intercampus conversation and activity around church-related higher education and mission (examples: faculty/administrator reading groups, workshops, lecture series, and campus exchanges). Eligible expenses include supplies, faculty incentives, travel, and speaker honoraria, but grants may not be used for ongoing institutional personnel costs, new personnel lines, benefits beyond 7.65% employer FICA, direct fundraising, startup costs for for-profit ventures, or indirect/overhead. Applications must be submitted by Lilly Network faculty or staff on behalf of a Member Institution after consulting the Lilly Network Program Director and include a 5-page program description (executive summary, rationale, connection to mission, goals, project description, evaluation plan), preliminary schedule, projected budget, director CV, and application cover sheet. Submit a single PDF to lilly.network@valpo.edu by September 15 each year; applicants are notified mid-November and funded programs typically occur the following academic year.
