Lilly Research Award Program (LRAP)

About this program

Eli Lilly’s Lilly Research Award Program (LRAP) funds pre-competitive, collaborative basic and applied research by pairing Lilly scientists with external investigators to advance high-risk, high-reward projects—such as new models or methods, target/biomarker validation, or improvements to preclinical models—and enables joint publication and access to Lilly expertise and resources. Proposals must be initiated by a Lilly scientist and jointly prepared with the external partner according to Lilly’s guidelines and are reviewed by a panel of Lilly scientists. Funding decisions prioritize novelty and potential impact, the external investigator’s expertise, and feasibility including integration of internal and external work plans, with written feedback to the internal sponsor approximately 45 days after each cycle closes.
