Loeblich and Tappan Student Research Grant

Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research, Inc. offers the Loeblich and Tappan Student Research Grant of up to $3,000 to support undergraduate and graduate research on living or fossil foraminifera and other protists. Geochemistry proposals are eligible only if the work directly relates to foraminifera (use of microfossils solely as geochemical indicators is not funded); applications are due by March 1 with Board decisions by late April. Applicants must be current Cushman Foundation members and submit an application form, a 1–3 page research summary, CV, detailed budget with justification, and a faculty advisor’s letter of support; proposals are judged on scientific merit and financial need. Awardees must provide a progress letter within two years and acknowledge the Foundation in resulting theses, dissertations, or publications.
