About this program

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, with state support, funds the Louisiana Culture Care Fund to cover general operating expenses for humanities-based organizations operating in any of Louisiana’s 64 parishes. Awards are $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 based on organizational annual operating budget (<$100,000; $100,000–$999,999; ≥$1,000,000 respectively), and funds are limited to operating costs (e.g., salaries, rent, utilities, strategic planning, consultants, professional development); programmatic expenses are ineligible. Eligible applicants include humanities-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public-facing units of accredited higher-education institutions, state and local government agencies, and state or federally recognized Native American tribal governments located in Louisiana. Applicants must provide an EIN and UEI, and nonprofits must submit their most recent Form 990 and IRS determination letter; no cost share is required and recipients must file a brief final report on fund use.
