Louisville Institute Dissertation Fellowship

About this program

The Louisville Institute offers $35,000 Dissertation Fellowships to support the final year of dissertation writing on Christian faith and life, ministry, religious movements and institutions, or religion and social issues in the United States and Canada. Fellowships run from fall 2027 through fall 2028 and require participation in a January 2028 Winter Seminar, with approved travel and lodging covered. Applicants must be Ph.D. or Th.D. candidates at accredited institutions in the United States or Canada, have completed all pre-dissertation requirements by February 1, 2027, and expect to defend their dissertations by December 31, 2028. Applications are due online by February 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. EST, with recommendation letters due February 8.
