Maintenance Small Grants Program

About this program

Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Maintenance Small Grants Program offers small awards (individual requests up to $500; total program funds $18,150) to support short- and long-term maintenance of watershed restoration practices in Maryland, with emphasis on invasive species removal/control and native plant replacements/enhancements. Awards are offered on a rolling basis until funds are expended and are intended to keep practices functioning to provide habitat and aesthetic benefits. Eligible applicants include homeowners associations, civic and community-based groups, youth and service organizations, faith-based groups, watershed organizations and other nonprofits, schools, and small municipalities (population <5,000). Projects must be Maryland-based, cost $500 or less, cannot fund purchase of non-native species, and organizations may submit no more than two applications per year during the pilot period.
