Blood Cancer United’s Mantle Cell Lymphoma Research Initiative II (MCL2) funded targeted research to elucidate disease mechanisms, develop more effective therapies and improve outcomes for mantle cell lymphoma patients, with particular emphasis on relapsed MCL (program now closed). Priority topics included tumor microenvironment and relapse biology, identification and validation of novel or hard-to-drug targets, development of curative immunotherapies and non‑cytotoxic targeted regimens, mechanisms of resistance, predictive biomarkers, and improved preclinical/animal models and combination strategies. Applicants were expected to be investigators or multidisciplinary teams with relevant expertise and supporting preclinical data, proposing high‑impact projects appropriate for either the Synergistic Team Award (STA) collaborative mechanism or Translational Grants (TRLs) aimed at advancing discoveries toward clinical application.
