Marcia Athey and Botany Fund (KAS Foundation) Research Grants

About this program

The Kentucky Academy of Science Foundation, via the Marcia Athey and Botany Funds, offers small research grants (typically several hundred dollars) to support physical, biological, behavioral, and engineering science projects conducted within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Awards are intended primarily for student-led research at Kentucky secondary schools, colleges, and universities under faculty supervision (faculty projects considered if funds permit) and may cover student stipends, in-state research travel, small project-specific equipment, supplies, and page charges; all awards are made to the institution and recipients must be KAS members. Applicants must submit a 250-word abstract, ~1,000-word project description, detailed justified budget, CVs, and (encouraged) letters of support; grants run one year (renewal may be considered for a second year) and require an approved final report by April 15 of the year following the award for future eligibility.
