Medical Student Research Grant

About this program

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) R&E Foundation offers the Medical Student Research Grant to support medical students in gaining hands-on research experience in medical imaging. The grant provides up to $6,000, with $3,000 from RSNA and a matching $3,000 from the sponsoring department, intended as a stipend for the student. Eligible projects span hypothesis-driven basic science, clinical investigation, imaging informatics, and more, with special consideration for applicants from underrepresented minority groups in medicine (UIM).

Applicants must be full-time medical students at accredited North American medical schools, RSNA members, or have a dues-paying RSNA member as a scientific advisor. They must commit to at least 10 weeks of full-time research in a radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine department, and cannot have previously led a grant exceeding $60,000 annually or submitted multiple RSNA grant applications in the same year.
