Medical Student Travel Award - CAP Foundation

About this program

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation offers up to $1,200 to support medical students’ travel to the CAP Annual Meeting (CAP27), September 9–12, 2027, in Chicago, where they can explore pathology, residency pathways, and networking opportunities. Applicants must be actively enrolled at a U.S.-based accredited medical school, demonstrate a strong interest in pathology, and obtain institutional authorization to attend. Applications require essays addressing career interest and meeting goals, two recommendation letters (one from a CAP member and one from medical school faculty), a curriculum vitae, and a professional headshot; an original abstract or case report is optional but may strengthen the application. Applications are due March 16, 2027, and awardees are responsible for travel costs exceeding the award.
