Meinders Retail Florist Education Grant Fund (AFE)

About this program

The Meinders Retail Florist Education Grant Fund, established by Herman and LaDonna Meinders and administered by the American Floral Endowment (AFE), provides grants and scholarships to reduce or cover registration and related costs so retail florists can attend industry events and educational programs. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based community organizations serving the floriculture industry, with preference for programs of national scope, initiatives that expand educational opportunities for young people, and multiyear or geographically broad projects. Awards are made annually by the AFE Education Committee based on available funds—typically $500–$10,000 (but may exceed that)—and the fund generally will not support routine operating costs, religious activities, or capital equipment unless integral to the project; submissions are typically due June 1 each year.
