Military Veterans Geoscience Scholarship Program (MVGSP)

About this program

The AAPG Foundation’s Military Veterans Geoscience Scholarship Program provides $5,000 for part-time and $10,000 for full-time undergraduate students pursuing geoscience degrees, with awards based on merit, financial need, and available funds. Applications are accepted February 1–April 30, and funds may cover tuition, fees, books, and eligible living expenses. Eligible applicants include active-duty U.S. service members, National Guard and Reserve members, honorably discharged veterans, and qualifying dependents entering or re-entering an accredited four-year undergraduate geoscience program. Applicants must submit military-service documentation, transcripts showing at least a 2.75 GPA, enrollment verification, a financial-need statement, a 250–500-word career statement, and one to four recommendation letters.
