Mini Grants for Libraries

About this program

Oregon Humanities offers Mini Grants for Libraries to fund humanities-focused events hosted by Oregon libraries around an annual theme, with awards up to $3,000 (2026 disbursed $24,690 to 11 libraries) and funding regranted from the National Endowment for the Humanities and private dollars. Grants support humanities programming—including history, criticism, and theory of the arts—but cannot be used to fund the creation or performance of art or humanitarian activities. Eligible applicants are public, tribal, community college, or volunteer libraries and branches located in Oregon; applicants must have an active UEI at submission, provide a W-9, be in good standing with any prior Oregon Humanities awards, and fiscal agents/sponsors are not eligible (one application per UEI per cycle). Applications are submitted via the Oregon Humanities website, typically open early November and closing mid-January, and the program provides online info sessions and individual support; sign up for the grants newsletter for application announcements.
