The Chesapeake Bay Trust offers the Mini Urban Trees Grant to support small-scale tree-planting initiatives in underserved urban areas across Maryland, aiming to enhance outdoor recreation, air quality, and community well-being. Funding of up to $5,000 is available for projects in neighborhoods with low median household incomes, high unemployment, or histories of red-lining. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, community and homeowner associations, faith-based groups, and others, with a focus on empowering disenfranchised communities. Both experienced and novice organizations are encouraged to apply, fostering community ownership of natural resources.
