Mosaic Scholarship

About this program

The Society of American Archivists and the SAA Foundation fund the Mosaic Scholarship to provide financial and mentoring support to students of color pursuing graduate or multi-course archival administration programs, awarding up to two $5,000 scholarships annually (as budgets permit) plus a one-year complimentary SAA membership and complimentary Annual Meeting registration. Eligible applicants are U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Middle Eastern/North African, or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander and are enrolled in or have applied to a qualifying archival program that offers at least three archival courses or is listed in SAA’s Directory of Archival Education. Applicants must have completed no more than half of degree credit requirements by the award date (June 1), begin or resume studies by September 1, may attend full- or part-time, and submit an online application by February 28 including a cover letter, official transcripts, a ≤500-word essay on interest in archives and advancing diversity, and two letters of recommendation.
