MRF Emergency Interim Support (Bridge Funding)

About this program

The Medical Research Foundation (MRF) offers Emergency Interim Support grants to provide bridge funding—up to $50,000—to established investigators whose research programs have lost national grant support, enabling collection of data to support renewal applications; OHSU investigators may concurrently apply for OHSU Presidential Bridge Funding (also up to $50,000). Eligible applicants are investigators with a well‑established PI funding record (generally those who have held major federal/R01‑level awards) who face a funding hiatus that would jeopardize their program; financial need and scientific merit are both considered and projects must directly relate to human health. Applications require completion of the InfoReady form and a single PDF packet (cover letter describing the fiscal emergency, specific aims, six‑page research plan, biosketch, detailed current/previous/pending support, budget justification and other attachments) plus a department chair/institutional commitment letter submitted via InfoReady; IRB/IACUC/IBC approvals are required before funds are released.
