Nathaniel Alston Student Achievement Scholarship Award

About this program

The Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA) offers the Nathaniel Alston Student Achievement Scholarship Award to recognize PA students who promote goodwill, public recognition, and professional development of the PA profession; three students are competitively selected each year to receive a $2,000 honorarium. Applicants must be PSPA members enrolled in the graduate/professional phase of a Pennsylvania PA program and in good standing (program confirmation required); essays must reflect graduate/professional experiences and any patient encounters should use initials only. To apply, submit a single 750‑word maximum, double‑spaced Microsoft Word essay on one of three prompts (community service, a PA training experience influencing future practice, or an ethical/moral patient encounter) by email to hiserman88@gmail.com with your name, address, email, PSPA number, PA program and anticipated graduation date by June 30 (annual deadline); winners are chosen by the PSPA Awards Committee and are expected to attend the Student Challenge Bowl banquet at the Annual PSPA Fall CME Conference to receive the award.
