About this program

The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) offers the New Professionals Grant to support recent graduates in their first year of working as court reporters or captioners, providing financial assistance for start-up expenses. Four grants totaling $8,000 are awarded annually, with two first-place grants of $4,000 and two second-place grants of $2,000. Eligibility requires current NCRA membership, graduation from a court reporting program with a minimum 3.5 GPA, and employment in judicial, CART, or captioning roles. Applicants must submit an official transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a 400-600 word essay detailing their passion for the profession and its impact on their life.
