NextGen Latino Leadership Program (CHCI)

About this program

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) offers the NextGen Latino Leadership Program, an all‑expenses‑paid one‑week leadership and civic engagement program in Washington, D.C. with sessions June 6–12 and June 20–26, 2027, featuring workshops, meetings with Members of Congress and national Latino leaders, tours, and civic leadership training. Eligible applicants are current 10th or 11th grade students for the 2026–27 academic year who reside in any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or Washington, D.C.; the application opens August 15, 2026 and closes January 15, 2027. Applicants must submit three short essays (≤300 words each), a high school transcript, contact information for one non‑family recommender, a parent/guardian permission form, and a resume; preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need and family members of CHCI Board or Advisory Board members are ineligible.
