About this program
The NOVARTIS Foundation (Japan) for the Promotion of Science awards approximately 35 Novartis Research Grants annually to support creative individual research projects in the life sciences and related chemistry and information science fields, providing JPY 1,000,000 per grant for one year. Grants fund research performed for one year beginning in April of the year following award; applications are accepted July–September (around September 15) with recipients selected by the end of February. Applicants must be affiliated with a designated nominating institution (see the Table of Designated Nominating Institutions) to be eligible.
