About this program
The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) offers a competitive Graduate Student Research Award of $26,000 to support Master’s and doctoral research addressing marine ecosystem, fisheries management, and related scientific, technological, or socioeconomic issues in NPRB priority regions. Funds may support stipends, tuition and fees, research travel, supplies, and analyses, and include travel to the Alaska Marine Science Symposium. Applicants must be accepted into or enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited U.S. institution and propose research aligned with the 2018 NPRB Science Plan. Students may receive only one award per degree, and applications are typically announced in November and due in February.
