Outstanding Dissertation Award

The Government and Nonprofit (GNP) Section of the American Accounting Association sponsors an annual competitive Outstanding Dissertation Award recognizing research relevant to governmental and nonprofit accounting. Applicants must be doctoral candidates with an accounting major or emphasis from a doctoral-granting institution in the United States or abroad, and their dissertations must have been defended before March 1 of the preceding year. Submissions must include the dissertation and a 10–20-page summary describing the study’s relevance, methods, and findings. Self- or third-party nominations are due April 15 and should be emailed to the award committee chair.
