Paleontological Society Outreach and Education Grant

About this program

The Paleontological Society's Outreach and Education Grant provides awards up to $2,500 (number of awards flexible) to support educational outreach and community engagement in any paleontology/paleobiology sub-discipline, including field trips, educator training, curriculum or online resource development, educational apps, and undergraduate-led outreach, with priority for projects that involve undergraduates, create new educational technologies, or produce widely distributable materials. Funds cannot cover overhead/indirect costs; matching funds are strongly encouraged and grantees must submit a follow-up report by March of the year following award (recipients are notified in early May). Applicants must be members of the Paleontological Society at the time of application; graduate students must document a sponsoring professional member as advisor, and prior recipients must wait one year and have submitted their final report before reapplying. Applications are submitted electronically as a single PDF via the PS form and must include a 3–5 page project proposal, a detailed itemized budget with justification, and a one-page CV for each project personnel.
