Klingenstein Philanthropies’ Patricia D. Klingenstein Grants Program (Sadie & Harry Davis Foundation) offers annual small grants of $5,000–$25,000 to support programs that promote the physical, mental, and social health of Maine children (birth–18); project grants fund a 12‑month period (Sept 1–Aug 31) with a final report due Oct 31 and the application portal opens April 15 and closes May 31 each year. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations or projects applying through a fiscal agent that serve Maine children, with a strong preference for organizations with annual budgets under $5 million; prior grantees must wait two years before reapplying. Applications must include organizational and financial documents (EIN, balance sheet, P&L, current budget; audited preferred), proposal narrative and budget, demographic data, project personnel and board lists, and may include 1–5 photos; the Foundation generally does not fund capital projects or individuals and will not accept standalone oral health proposals.
