About this program

The Renaissance Society of America offers Paul Oskar Kristeller Fellowships (up to $2,000) to support scholarly research at archives, collections, sites, libraries, or other venues and to cover related expenses such as research travel, copy‑editing, access fees, digital images/permissions, publication subventions, dependent care, and summer stipends; awards are open to all disciplines except Art History. Fellowships prioritize contingent faculty, independent and self‑employed scholars, graduate students, early‑career researchers, and applicants who have published fewer than two single‑author books. Applicants must be RSA members at the time of application and during the award year; beginning with the fall 2025 cycle, applicants must have held RSA membership for at least 12 months immediately prior to application. The application requires a 1,000‑word project description (to be pasted into the online form) and a curriculum vitae no longer than five pages.
