About this program

The Paul S. Veneklasen Research Foundation supports research in acoustics, reviewing proposals via staff screening and the Board of Directors (meetings in January, May, and September); award amounts are not specified and the Board has final discretion. Applicants may submit a preliminary letter of inquiry and, if invited, full proposals by email to the Executive Director (info@veneklasenresearchfoundation.org), with typical submission windows of Dec 1→Jan review, Apr 1→May, and Aug 1→Sept; the Foundation prefers to fund projects alone and does not make multi‑year awards but will consider annual renewals up to three years total. Eligible applicants are public charities (501(c)(3) organizations) or other entities under expenditure responsibility; individuals may apply only if they demonstrate advanced acoustics expertise, a solid research plan, and agree to public dissemination and Foundation review of results prior to publication. Required materials include a cover letter with legal/fiscal contacts, project narrative and schedule, detailed budget, resumes of key personnel, and documentation of tax‑exempt status (audited financials and Form 990 requested if available); projects outside the Foundation’s mission (e.g., social services, government‑initiated programs, economic development or training) will not be funded.
