About this program
PEN America provides a range of literary grants to support writers and their creative endeavors. These grants, totaling $5,000 annually, are designed to foster diverse voices in literature and offer financial assistance to writers and translators. Applicants must meet specific criteria, such as the requirement for the PEN/Phyllis Naylor Grant that applicants have been previously published by a US trade publisher, and the application deadline for 2026 grants is fast approaching on June 1, 2025.
