About this program
PEN America offers the PEN Grant for the English Translation of Italian Literature, a $5,000 award for translators working on a book-length translation of Italian literary fiction or nonfiction into English. This grant is part of the annual PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grants, which aim to promote the publication of translated world literature in English. Eligibility is limited to translators of narrative prose from Italian into English, with applicants automatically considered if they apply to the broader PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grants. The deadline for applications is June 1, 2025.
