PPL STEM Educator Awards

About this program

PPL Corporation’s STEM Educator Awards recognize K–12 science teachers who use student-centered, hands-on instruction to strengthen STEM learning and engagement. One outstanding teacher receives $2,500 for classroom supplies and professional development, while three additional teachers—representing elementary, middle, and high school levels—receive $1,500 each for classroom supplies. Applicants must be full-time teachers with at least three years of experience at a public school within PPL Electric Utilities’ Pennsylvania service territory, and prior winners from the past five years are ineligible. Applications are accepted September 1–October 31 and require a résumé/CV, two recommendation letters, a sample STEM lesson with supporting materials and student work, and a personal reflection on STEM learning.
