About this program

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, in partnership with Spinal Research (ISRT), supports preclinical translational research in traumatic spinal cord injury to advance drugs, biologics, gene therapies, and medical devices toward pre-IND or pre-IDE development. Eligible projects may address neuroprotection, regeneration, or plasticity through in vitro or in vivo studies, proof-of-concept work, dosing and toxicology, pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, or related device studies; full drug screens, IND-enabling studies, and clinical research are excluded. U.S. and international academic institutions, private institutions, and companies may apply, with industry-academic partnerships encouraged. Grants are milestone-based, last one to two years, and provide up to $250,000 total, following a letter of intent and invitation to submit a full application.
