Professional Connection Grants (Australian Pain Society)

About this program

The Australian Pain Society offers Professional Connection Grants to support APS members in nursing, allied health, clinicians/managers and trainee/early career researchers to undertake short targeted visits or translational activities that inform pain practice and support evidence translation. Two streams are available: Clinical Professional Connection Grants for visits to major metropolitan multidisciplinary pain centres (typically ~1 week) and Translational Professional Connection Grants for activities that build translation or policy/communication skills; up to $4,000 is available per year across both streams with individual awards capped at $2,000. Applicants must be current APS members who are Australian citizens or permanent residents based in Australia; trainee/early career researchers are current PhD candidates or within five years of PhD conferral, and connections within the applicant’s city are generally ineligible. Applications require employer/supervisor and host/acceptance letters, successful applicants must arrange site connections themselves, and payment is made by EFT after activity completion on submission of receipts (per diem excepted) and a 500–800 word report with images; awards are at the discretion of the APS Board.
