About this program
The Spencer Foundation offers Racial Equity Research Grants to support education research projects that aim to understand and disrupt racial inequality in education, with a focus on innovative approaches to equitable education, including mental health, political challenges, and civic engagement, as well as AI and racial equity. Grants of up to $75,000 are available for projects lasting one to five years.
Eligible applicants include Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs with an earned doctorate, affiliated with a non-profit or public/governmental institution. Proposals must contribute to academic research on racial inequality in education, and while graduate students may participate, they cannot serve as PIs or Co-PIs.
