About this program

Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation (DRWF) awards research grants up to $50,000 per year for up to two years (with occasional larger awards for exceptionally meritorious proposals) and offers limited program grants for educational or community health projects aimed at people with diabetes or health professionals. Currently DRWF’s primary research priorities are islet cell transplantation, macrovascular disease, and neuropathy, and only proposals within these areas will be reviewed. Applicants are evaluated on relevance to the DRWF mission, scientific merit, and investigator qualifications; studies involving human or animal subjects must have institutional ethical review approval and informed consent consistent with NIH guidelines. Required materials include a signed cover sheet, one‑page abstract, an up-to-eight‑page project narrative (specific aims, significance, methodology/timetable), budget with justification (indirect costs <10%), and provisions for progress reporting and acknowledgment of DRWF support in publications.
