Research grants for GBS, CIDP and variants

About this program

GBS|CIDP Foundation International funds basic and translational research on Guillain-Barré syndrome, CIDP and related variants (including Miller Fisher syndrome and MMN), supporting projects that improve diagnosis, elucidate pathogenesis, develop treatments, and expand education; a patient registry is available to approved investigators. Funding comes from philanthropic and commercial sources (including the Helen S. Manheimer Research Fund) and historically includes Discovery Awards, Elevation Awards, MMN Elevation Awards and the Benson Fellowship. Qualified investigators worldwide may apply; the program follows an annual timeline (LOI Nov 1; notification Dec 15; full application Jan 31; committee review Mar 15; board approval Apr 15; awards announced May 30; first payment Jun 1) and institutional approvals for human and/or animal subjects must be submitted prior to disbursement.
