About this program

The Welch Foundation funds fundamental chemical research at Texas educational institutions through Research Grants that provide $117,000 per year to support a full-time regular faculty member with tenure or on the tenure track who serves as principal investigator. Eligible applicants are universities, colleges, or other educational institutions located in Texas and listed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the PI must hold the required faculty appointment. Grant funds may be used for fellowships, scholarships, permanent and expendable scientific equipment, services, equipment maintenance, publication expenses, and travel according to Foundation guidelines, and proposals must be submitted via ProposalCentral by noon CST on January 31 annually.
