Rheumatology Future Physician Scientist Award

About this program

The Rheumatology Research Foundation offers a suite of preceptorships and training awards to recruit and train future rheumatology clinicians and physician‑scientists, including the Rheumatology Future Physician Scientist Award, medical and graduate student preceptorships, the Lawren H. Daltroy Preceptorship in Health Communication, and a Resident Research Preceptorship. Awards range from $2,000–$4,000 plus travel support and ACR Convergence registration for short student preceptorships, up to $15,000 for resident or Daltroy awards, and up to $30,000/year (maximum $60,000 over 2 years) for the Future Physician Scientist Award. Eligible applicants include MD/DO students (including combined‑degree candidates), medical and graduate students, and residents seeking mentored clinical or research experiences in rheumatology; the Daltroy award excludes investigators with current or prior R01‑equivalent funding.
