Richard Booker Education Grant (AAS Education Grant)

About this program

Australian Acoustical Society (AAS) offers the Richard Booker Education Grant to encourage and enhance the study and research of acoustics in Australia, providing up to A$20,000 annually which may be split among multiple projects. Projects are evaluated on benefit to acoustics, AAS and its members, originality, feasibility, and potential for publication or presentation, with preference for work addressing community or environmental problems, industry–academic collaboration, publicity for acoustics, or enhancements to acoustic education. Any educational institution, company, organisation, professional, student or layperson may apply (one entry per person or group per year); partial co‑funding is acceptable and government/commercial equipment purchases are considered case‑by‑case. Applications (maximum four A4 pages) must specify proposal, methodology, outcomes, budget with quotes for equipment, and timing; submissions are due by 5:00 PM AEST on 31 July each year and awards may carry conditions such as progress reports or publication.
