Richard J. Bing Award for Young Investigators

About this program

The International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) offers the Richard J. Bing Award for Young Investigators to recognize outstanding cardiovascular biology research by early‑career investigators and encourage continued biomedical careers; the winner receives US$1,500 and a plaque, three runner‑ups receive US$1,000 and plaques, and ISHR will cover World Congress registration for finalists. Applicants must be ISHR members (or have applied) who are current graduate students or who received their PhD (or equivalent) or completed medical residency less than eight years before the World Congress opening (May 8, 2028), with justified career breaks allowable. Applications (single PDF) must include an original unpublished manuscript (not on PubMed by Feb 1, 2028), a curriculum vitae, and a supervisor letter addressing contribution, authorship appropriateness, career status/career‑break justification, manuscript unpublished status, and ISHR membership; only one submission per author and the candidate must be sole or first author.
