Richard Materson ERF New Investigator Research Grants

About this program

The Foundation for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s Richard S. Materson Education Research Fund offers $10,000 short-term seed grants for research related to physical medicine and rehabilitation. Awardees must begin projects promptly, submit programmatic and fiscal reports within 24 months, and provide findings for review and possible presentation at an AAPM&R or AAP Annual Assembly. Eligible applicants are residents in ACGME- or OPTI-accredited physical medicine and rehabilitation programs or physiatrists within five years of completing accredited residency or fellowship training. The applicant or at least one co-investigator must belong to AAPM&R and/or the Association of Academic Physiatrists; typed applications with a research plan, outcomes, budget, institutional support letter, and CV are due online by May 1.
