Winn Awards offers the Robert A. Winn Career Development Award, a two‑year institutional award providing $240,000 ($120,000/year) to cover ~40% of an early‑career physician’s salary to create protected time for advancing clinical trialist skills and community‑engaged research in cancer, cardiovascular/cardiometabolic diseases, or neuropsychiatry. Program components include a 4.5‑day Winn‑AACR DICT workshop, a two‑year Community‑Oriented Clinical Trialist (COCT) curriculum, multi‑tiered mentoring, and an expectation that scholars mentor a student in the Winn Clinical Investigator Pathway Program. Eligible applicants are physicians (MD, DO, or international equivalent) with an active U.S. medical license who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and are in years 1–8 of a full‑time clinical faculty appointment, with a demonstrated commitment to improving patient participation in clinical trials. Awards are made to the applicant’s organization (not the individual) and fund salary support only, not project costs.
