About this program
The Dedalus Foundation’s Robert Motherwell Book Award provides an annual $10,000 prize to the author of an outstanding English-language publication on modernism in the arts, including visual art, literature, music, and performing arts. Publishers must nominate eligible books first published in 2026 between October 15 and December 16, 2026, for consideration for the 2027 award. Eligible works may address art from the mid-nineteenth century to the present and are typically single-author, coherent studies; anthologies and essay collections are not eligible.
