About this program
The Dedalus Foundation offers the annual Robert Motherwell First Book Award, recognizing an outstanding first book that makes a significant contribution to the history and criticism of modernism in the arts, with a $10,000 prize. Eligible works must be single-author, first book-length publications written in English and published in 2026, addressing modernism broadly across the visual arts, literature, music, or performing arts.
