About this program
Research to Prevent Blindness offers the $75,000, one-year International Research Collaborators Award to strengthen U.S.–international research partnerships that advance knowledge, skills, and treatments for blinding disorders. The award supports reciprocal researcher exchanges, including extended visits by researchers or laboratory members at partner institutions in the United States and abroad.
Applicants must be U.S.-based MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral researchers holding primary appointments from Assistant Professor through Professor at accredited U.S. higher-education institutions. Candidates must be nominated by their Ophthalmology Department Chair, with one nomination permitted per department; nominations are due June 15 or December 15, followed by applications due July 1 or January 10.
