RSA Doctoral Student Small Grants Program

About this program

The Research Society on Alcohol (RSA) offers five one-year Doctoral Student Small Grants of $5,000 each to support research projects relevant to alcohol use and its scientific study; qualified international students are eligible, and at least one award will support an applicant from an underrepresented or historically marginalized background. Applicants must be MD, PhD, or MD/PhD students sponsored by an RSA Regular Member in good standing, and their proposals must align with RSA’s mission. Students with independent support from NIH, NSF, or another national organization are ineligible, while T32-funded students may apply but may not request additional salary beyond their T32 support. A one-page letter of intent and CV are required, with submissions due November 25, 2026.
