APA Division 44 Russell Stambaugh Memorial Travel Award

The APA Division 44 BDSM Task Force offers the $1,000 Russell Stambaugh Memorial Travel Award to defray travel expenses for individuals presenting on BDSM/kink topics at the APA Annual Convention. The award supports graduate students, early-career professionals, individuals with financial need, and members of underrepresented groups committed to advancing psychology related to kink and adjacent communities. Applicants must have an approved Division 44 presentation, register for and attend the convention, fulfill presentation obligations, and apply by March 31, 2027. Applications require a 500–800-word personal statement, curriculum vitae, presentation acceptance or abstract information, and conference registration documentation; reimbursement requires receipts for eligible expenses.
