Ruth Gates Fellowship

About this program

The International Coral Reef Society offers the Ruth Gates Fellowship to support solution-oriented research and development addressing the coral reef crisis, with two annual awards of up to US$5,000 for graduate students and early-career postdoctoral researchers. Applicants must be ICRS student or full members and be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program or within three years of completing a PhD, with career breaks excepted. Proposed projects must focus on reef corals or coral reefs, run for no more than 24 months, and include a research proposal, detailed budget, CV, track record, and two letters of support, including one from an ICRS member. Applications are due February 15; funds may support research expenses but not salaries or institutional overhead.
